Virtuous Women International Holds 7th End-of-Year Ceremony in Patigi

Virtuous Women International (Nyizagiyemadecizhi Nya Yizha), coordinated by Hon. Princess Tsado Felicia, on Saturday held its 7th End-of-Year Ceremony in Patigi Town, Patigi Local Government Area of Kwara State, with a strong focus on women empowerment and community development.

The event featured self-empowerment lectures, support for widows and the less privileged, award of excellence, as well as entertainment and refreshments, drawing women groups, community leaders, and stakeholders from across the local government area.

Speaking at the event, the first guest speaker, Mrs. Comfort Kolo, highlighted the importance of women entrepreneurship, urging women to become self-reliant and economically productive within their households. According to her, financial independence among women contributes significantly to family stability and societal growth.

In his address, the second guest speaker, Alhaji Sadiq Mahmud Abdullahi, Chairman of the Rice Farmers Association of Nigeria (RIFAN), Kwara State, spoke on the need for women’s participation in politics. He dismissed negative perceptions surrounding women in politics and stressed that political engagement offers women opportunities to influence policies and attract developmental interventions to their communities.

The President of Virtuous Women International, in her remarks, emphasized that the organization is non-political, but committed to women empowerment and grassroots development. She reiterated the popular saying, “What a man can do, a woman can do better,” and expressed gratitude to His Royal Majesty, the Emir of Patigi, Dr. Alhaji Ibrahim Umar Bologi II, partners, the organization’s executives, and participants for their support.

Hon. Princess Tsado Felicia also disclosed her intention to contest for the Kwara North Senatorial seat under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027, calling on the good people of Kwara North to support her ambition. She assured constituents of her readiness to deliver dividends of democracy if elected.

Also speaking, the Executive Chairman of Patigi Local Government, represented by his Chief of Staff, Alhaji Muhammed Sha’aba, commended Virtuous Women International for its impactful contributions to social development in the area. He encouraged the group to sustain its empowerment initiatives.

Highlights of the event included the distribution of empowerment items such as rubber drums, gas cylinders, charcoal stoves, clothing materials, and cash support to beneficiaries, reaffirming the organization’s commitment to improving the welfare of women and the less privileged.
