Makun Football Club Patigi Emerges Champion of DPO Football Competition

Makun Football Club Patigi has emerged as the champion of the DPO Football Competition after defeating Ciroma Football Club Patigi with a convincing scoreline of 7–2 in the final match held at the Patigi Secondary School football field.

The competition, which kicked off on early of August 2025, came to an exciting conclusion on October 26, 2025, bringing weeks of intense and entertaining football action to the people of Patigi Local Government Area, Kwara State.

The tournament was sponsored by the former Divisional Police Officer (DPO)Nurudeen Adeyemi of Patigi Local Government and organized by the Patigi Sports Association (PASA).

During the closing ceremony, awards were presented to the champion (Makun FC), second-place (Ciroma FC), and third-place teams, as well as to outstanding individual players, including the Best Goalkeeper, Best Player, and Highest Goal Scorer of the tournament.

In his remarks, Coach Alfa Suleiman, speaking on behalf of Makun Football Club, expressed gratitude to the players and supporters for their commitment throughout the competition. He also appreciated the sponsor (former DPO), the Chairman and members of PASA, for their dedication and successful organization of the event.

It is worth noting that Makun Football Club also clinched victory in the Ahmadu Ndejikpayi Football Competition held three months ago, reaffirming their dominance in local football tournaments.
