The Kyeadya Kinti Development Association, Patigi Ward IV, has successfully organized the maiden edition of its Debate/Quiz Competition and Paper Presentation on the theme “The Importance of Girl-Child Education for Community Development.” The event was held at LGEA Primary School, Godiwa, in Patigi Local Government Area of Kwara State.
Four schools—LGEA Primary School Godiwa, LGEA Primary School Gbaradogi, LGEA Primary School Tswatagi, and LGEA Primary School Ragada—participated in the competition, which brought together pupils, teachers, traditional leaders, and community stakeholders.
The keynote paper was presented by Mrs. Jibril Fatima Hassan, who emphasized the need for communities to prioritize girl-child education as a tool for social and economic progress. She called on parents and leaders to ensure equal access to education for every girl.
Other dignitaries present included representatives of the Emir of Patigi, Alhaji Adama Jibril; Alhaji Sha’aba Ibrahim Idrisu (Hakimi Kyeadya Kinti); the Education Secretary of Patigi LGA, Alhaji Sha’aba; and village heads from Kyeadya Kinti communities. All speakers echoed the importance of girl-child education for building a better future.
In a show of support, Kyeadya Kinti communities donated educational materials and cash through their village heads to strengthen the association’s educational programs.
Speaking on behalf of the association, the Vice Chairman expressed gratitude to all who contributed to the success of the program. He further announced a two-year scholarship award for all pupils who participated in the debate and quiz competition. In addition, both the pupils and their teachers received educational materials and cash gifts in recognition of their efforts.
The association assured that this initiative will be sustained and expanded in the coming years to further promote education and community development.
