Hon. Ahmed Adamu Rufai Commends Kwara Govt for Rural Development Initiatives in Patigi

The Executive Chairman of Patigi Local Government Area, Hon. Ahmed Adamu Rufai, on Thursday received officials from the Kwara State Ministry of Works alongside the contractor handling the construction of Patigi Township Roads.

In a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Executive Chairman, Yakubu Salihu Lile, the visit marks a significant step in the state government’s ongoing rural development agenda under the leadership of His Excellency, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, CON, Executive Governor of Kwara State. The initiative aims to enhance infrastructure, ease transportation, and stimulate economic growth across the state.

The road projects include:

The General Hospital Road leading to Patigi Yagba Market

The Patigi General Hospital Road leading to the Local Government Council Quarters

These roads, once completed, are expected to boost commercial activities, improve access to essential services, and reduce accidents—especially during busy market periods.

Hon. Ahmed Adamu Rufai commended the Kwara State Government for its continuous support and commitment to developing Patigi LGA. He stated:

> “I have received the team from the Ministry of Works and the contractor for the construction of Patigi Township Road projects by the Kwara State Government and have officially handed over the roads to them.

These construction projects represent yet another phase of rural development that Patigi LGA has benefitted from under the leadership of Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, CON, in his quest to ensure that every LGA in the state feels the impact of good governance.

On behalf of the good people of Patigi LGA, I appreciate the Kwara State Government. I charge the contractor to ensure quality work and timely completion, and I urge residents to cooperate with the contractor for smooth execution of the project.”

 

The Executive Chairman further emphasized the importance of maintaining high construction standards to guarantee long-term durability and community benefit.

In their remarks, the team from the Ministry of Works and the contractor expressed gratitude for the warm reception by the Executive Chairman. The contractor assured that quality work would be delivered and called on residents to offer necessary cooperation to ensure seamless project execution.

The road projects are set to significantly transform Patigi, improving transportation, strengthening commerce, and reaffirming the state government’s dedication to rural development.
